Girls' & Boys' Day 2025 at LUFA Speyer: Experiment, discover, inspire

On April 3, we once again opened our laboratory doors for Girls' & Boys' Day and offered interested students exciting insights into the world of science. For one day, the young participants were able to get a taste of the everyday working life of chemical engineers and biology laboratory technicians - in a real laboratory atmosphere.

Equipped with lab coats and safety goggles, they were busy microscoping, titrating and chromatographing. Not only classic analyses were on the agenda: gummy bears were titrated with enthusiasm and an impressive decoloration reaction was carried out with the colourful sweets - hands-on chemistry (and amazement)!

There was also plenty of experimentation in the field of biology: Soil types were determined, DNA was isolated and a tricky laboratory puzzle quiz put scientific knowledge to the test.

A successful day full of eye-openers that not only imparted knowledge, but also awakened the joy of research!
