Dr. Dieter Martens Honored with the Sprengel-Liebig Gold Medal

At the 137th VDLUFA Congress in Leipzig, Dr. Dieter Martens, head of our Department of Environmental Analysis and Product Quality, was awarded the Sprengel-Liebig Gold Medal by the Association of German Agricultural Testing and Research Institutes (VDLUFA).

In her laudatory speech, Dr. Anja Töpper, president of the association, praised Martens’ outstanding scientific achievements and his nearly 20 years of dedication to the association. According to Töpper, with his high level of professional expertise, scientific creativity, and great collegiality, he has made a significant contribution to method development and quality assurance in agricultural testing.

At LUFA Speyer, he and his team are continuously refining methods for the analysis of pesticides, dioxins, PCBs, and PFAS in a wide variety of matrices. In doing so, he consistently sets new analytical standards with his creative ideas.
