Renewable electricity generation has increased

Our new photovoltaic system went into operation today. This brings our renewable energy production capacity to approximately 85 kWp.

Laboratory operations are very energy-intensive due to the necessary technical systems (supply and exhaust air, AC, water treatment, etc.) and the numerous pieces of laboratory equipment. That is why the first photovoltaic system was installed on the roof of our then-new laboratory building 20 years ago. This system has now been renovated and expanded, allowing us to produce significantly more electricity: another contribution within the framework of the climate protection measures of the Palatinate District Association, which sponsors our institution and is part of the Rhineland-Palatinate Municipal Climate Pact.
